Rehabilitation & Recovery

The application of specialized exercise methods are intended for the reduction and treatment of various injuries, postural problems and painful conditions of the musculoskeletal system. The exercise program is carried out under the supervision of a physiotherapist or a certified personal trainer who follows the doctor's instructions. All treatments are individual in order to control numerous factors and their influence on the course of rehabilitation.

The Schroth method utilizes different exercises designed for three-dimensional correction of the spine. It is recognized as the most effective treatment for scoliosis, which is characterized by the spine curvature; and it is also used in the treatment of lordosis and kyphosis. Corrective exercises and special breathing techniques strengthen the muscles that support the spine, thereby correcting deformities and changes in the position of the pelvis, shoulder blades, and chest that cause postural imbalance. The exercise program is determined based on the type of deformity and degree of the resulting curvature. Corrective exercises can also help reduce pain and strengthen lung capacity and chest mobility. Early recognition of scoliosis and adequate diagnosis are of the greatest importance in preventing the progression of the deformity. The supervision of a certified Schroth therapist is important for the proper implementation of the program and treatment results.

Good posture involves the balance of the muscular and skeletal systems, which are interconnected and enable the body to function properly. If this balance is disturbed, it causes increased strain on certain supporting structures, and can become the cause of various painful conditions or the progression of deformities. Poor posture is, therefore, any deviation from the good posture, and not necessarily a structural deformation. Deformities can be congenital or acquired, and occur in both children and adults. In addition to physiotherapists, our team also includes certified Schroth therapists who, based on the assessment of postural status and fundamental movement patterns, create an individual exercise program according to the type and degree of deformity. Re-establishment of postural symmetry and reduction of deformity progression can be achieved by applying different programs of corrective exercises which involve muscle strengthening and gait pattern improvement.

Kinesitherapy is one of the most important aspects of medical rehabilitation. It belongs to the field of physical therapy, which deals with the application of movement for the purpose of treatment. It is used in the treatment of various injuries, diseases of the locomotor apparatus, neurological disorders, postural problems and painful conditions of the musculoskeletal system. This form of physical therapy is also distinguished by its influence on the respiratory, cardiovascular and nervous systems. The individual exercise program encourages muscle strengthening, joint mobility, pain reduction, posture correction and the establishment of a normal gait pattern. It is carried out by physiotherapists or certified personal trainers in accordance with therapy requirements.
